There is a select amount of internet resources available to the online numismatist to obtain current coin prices of world coinage.  The primary resource used by numismatists for coin valuation are coin price guides, of which there general online price guides for coins from the United Kingdom and select ancient coins.  Valuable world coin pricing information can be obtained from detailed results of previous completed coin auctions, may of which are posted on the internet.  Worldwide internet auctions also provide a valuable gauge in the valuation and demand  for particular world coins.  Other online resources, such as discussion boards, email groups, newsgroups, and numismatic websites of coin dealers and collectors are in abundance and can provide excellent information regarding coin valuation.  Furthermore, traditional print resources regarding this subject can be easily purchased online from a variety of online book sellers.

Discussion Boards

Several quality discussion boards are available online to ask questions, chat or get expert advice.  Check out some of these online discussion boards:  

Coins Club:  Yahoo's largest online numismatic club.  They also have several smaller, specific online numismatic clubs.

World and Ancient Coin Forum:  Hosted by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).  A quality online discussion board.

Royal Mint Forum:  Hosted by the British Royal Mint, this online discussion forum is focus on United Kingdom numismatics.

World Coin and Currency Collectors Community:  The MSN network's  online community for world numismatics.  Several other numismatic related communities are also online.

Email Groups

Moneta-L:  An excellent email group pertaining to ancient coin collecting.  The Yahoo! Groups network consists of several quality groups dealing with ancient and world numismatics. 

South Asia Coins:  A coin collecting group focusing on coins from the South Asian region, such as India, Pakistan and Nepal.

Islamic Coins Group:  Group for collectors and students of Islamic numismatics.

Newsgroups

Rec.collecting.coins:  The world's largest coin collecting usenet newsgroup consisting of hundreds of collectors and numismatists interacting on a regular basis.  It is an excellent forum to ask questions for the coin collecting novice or the experienced numismatic expert. To simply chat or get others opinions regarding numismatic issues its a good starting place.  

Rec.collecting.paper-money:  Newsgroup specifically for paper money collectors and enthusiasts.

Uk.rec.collecting.coins:  Newsgroup pertaining to coin collecting in the United Kingdom.

Coin Price Guides

Values of Coins of the UK : Complied by Tony Clayton, this price guide provides values for individual denominations of milled coinage used in the United Kingdom.

Auction Prices Realized

Several numismatic sites post their auction results on their websites.   Online auction sites, such as eBay and Teletrade, can often provide numismatists with valuable information pertaining to the demand for various coins, based on the active bidding being conducted for specific coins.
